Melanotan II + PT-141

▸ Overview

The Melanotan II + PT-141 combination acts on multiple melanocortin receptors. Melanotan II is more potent on pigmentation (MC1R); PT-141 has greater selectivity for libido (MC4R). The combination is researched to study the differential action on the various receptors.

▸ Mechanism of action

• Both are melanocortin-receptor agonists but with a different selectivity profile: MT-II acts on MC1R–MC5R; PT-141 preferentially on MC3R–MC4R.
• MT-II provides the pigmentation effect (MC1R) while PT-141 enhances the central action on libido (MC4R).
• The combination allows lower doses of each component to achieve similar effects, reducing side effects.
• MT-II's tanning effect can be complemented by PT-141's sexual-wellbeing effect.

• Subcutaneous route: each component separately.
